Course Terms and Disclaimer

Introduction:

In the spirit of building a respectful, honest relationship with you, the student, we would like to be as clear and transparent as possible. Knowing what is expected of you and having a clear sense of the rules and guidelines that the Gentle Trauma Release Institute operates on, makes it easier to cultivate that kind of respectful and honest relationship. At the same time, it allows for avoiding potential misunderstandings.

The Community Guidelines and the Dislaimer bellow contain standard clauses and gudelines for operating online institutions that teach modalities similar to the Gentle Trauma Release Method©. These rules are here to help protect all parties, including you, the student. 

Know that the staff of the Gentle Trauma Release Institute is here for you, should you need to talk or ask questions!

By enrolling in the Training, the student ("you") acknowledges that they have completely and carefully read these Community Guidelines and the Disclaimer and that they fully understand all its parts and aspects and that they agree to all terms and conditions as stated and described herein.

 

Community Guidelines

Students enrolled in the Gentle Trauma Release Method© Training are expected to:
 
  • Communicate in a polite, respectful and professional manner with fellow students and the Institute's staff
  • Treat others (students, clients, colleagues, instructors and staff of the Institute) with respect and courtesy
  • Make an effort to resolve any issues or differences in a respectful and professional manner
  • Strive to attribute positive intentions to the behavior and action of others when not 100% sure of the way and reasoning behind these actions and behaviors
  • Avoid gossip and speak directly to fellow students or staff of the Institute
  • Respect confidentiality whenever required, appropriate or ethical in relation to clients, fellow students or the staff of the Institute
  • Clearly inform potential clients of potential services and appropriately document that they had done so (including the nature, benefits, risks and logistics of these services) prior to the commencement of the service provided
  • Actively and purposefully support their own wellbeing, resilience and health
  • Respect the guidelines and requirements regarding the Institute's Intellectual Property Policy and Certification Policy and Alcohol and Drug Policy as stated below  

 

In the event of disorderly, disrespectful or inappropriate conduct or breaching these Community Guidelines, the Institute reserves the right to terminate student’s instruction and their access to Training and Training materials without refund. The same right applies to instances of illegal, indecent, harassing, threatening, obscene or unreasonable behavior.

Upon completing their enrollment and registration, all students are required to adhere to these Community Guidelines.

 

Intellectual Property Policy

The Gentle Trauma Release Institute owns the copyrights and all other intellectual property rights related to all Training documentation and all Training materials. No one is allowed to copy or reproduce in whole or any part of the Training materials without the explicit verbal or written permission of the Gentle Trauma Release Institute.

After enrollment, the Gentle Trauma Release Institute will provide the student with access to proprietary information such as protocols, processes, interventions, tools and documentation designed to enhance the skills, expertise and business practice of the student (the “Proprietary Information”). The Proprietary Information is confidential and is meant for the student’s exclusive use only. Students may not disclose the Proprietary Information to anyone and are required to keep it private and confidential.

Students will hold the Gentle Trauma Release Institute harmless against all claims, damages, injunctions, interest, judgments, lost profits, cost and legal fees that may be suffered, directly or indirectly, by the Gentle Trauma Release Institute by reason of breach of any covenant by the student.

The students and graduates have permission to use the Proprietary Information within the scope of their own one-on-one practice. However, no student or graduate is allowed to teach the Gentle Trauma Release Method© or the Proprietary Information or to certify others by using or teaching the Gentle Trauma Release Method© or the Proprietary Information. The Gentle Trauma Release Institute is the only and exclusive platform to teach the Gentle Trauma Release Method© and the Proprietary Information and owns all the copyrights.

 

Refunds

The Gentle Trauma Release Institute is confident about the immense value of the Gentle Trauma Release Method© Training. If, however, you don’t wish to continue the Training after your enrollment, you have fourteen (14) days from the day of enrollment, to cancel your registration in the Gentle Trauma Release Method© Training and to receive a full refund (minus the transaction fees applied).
 
The day of enrollment is defined as the day when you made your purchase and were allowed access the online Student Area hosting the training materials.

After the fourteenth (14) day, the Gentle Trauma Release Institute will issue no refunds. Students enrolled in the Gentle Trauma Release Method© Training via a payment plan who no longer wish to complete the training (for whatever reason or circumstance) will still be required to proceed with and fulfill the agreed payment terms and conditions.
 
We may charge a processing fee at our discretion when handling your refund.
 
All refund requests must be made in writing within the defined refund period.
 
Being removed or banned from a Facebook group or the online Training Platform, breaching the rules, guidelines, terms or copyrights does not entitle you to a refund. Defaulting on your payments also does not entitle you to a refund.
 
As soon as you receive your refund, you must delete every copy of the product and learning and training materials that you have downloaded. You must also delete all copies you have placed on other devices or media.
 
 
 

Certification Policy

After completing all steps and conditions outlined out as Graduation Requirements (the “Graduation Requirements") in the online Student Platform of the Gentle Trauma Release Method© Training, the Dean and the Lead Professor of the Gentle Trauma Release Institute will review the student’s work and conduct an evaluation of the student’s ability to understand, perform, use and apply the Gentle Trauma Release Method©. 

Completion of the Graduation Requirements does not automatically guarantee student’s certification as a Gentle Trauma Release© Practitioner. The final decision regarding the student's certification is at the discretion of the Dean and the Lead Professor of the Gentle Trauma Release Institute.

In the event where the student’s ability to understand, perform, use and apply the Gentle Trauma Release Method© were deemed unsatisfactory, the Dean and the Lead Professor will issue Recommendations for Improvement (the “Recommendations for Improvement”). A successful certification depend on a satisfactory application and implementation of the Recommendations for Improvement as further evaluated by the Dean and the Lead Professor of the Gentle Trauma Release Institute.

 

Alcohol and Drug Policy

The Institute Staff and the student will not be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescribed drugs used without the authority of a physician while participating in mutual interactions or activities associated with the Training.

 
These interactions and activities include, but are not limited to, participating in Virtual Office Hours, posting on forums, conducting the required Practice Sessions, communicating via email, phone, social media or real-time participation in a conference line meeting. This does not include drugs prescribed by a physician or over-the-counter medications used according to the directions label.
 
The Gentle Trauma Release Institute will review each case individually and decide on disciplinary actions against its Alcohol and Drugs Policy and infractions thereof. This might include temporary suspension and/or termination of enrollment and instruction proceedings.
 
 

Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and to be construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic.

You irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Slovak Republic. Should any of these Terms be found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the remainder of the Terms or Policy and they will continue in full force and effect. 

 

Disclaimer

All contents of the Training are for teaching and informational purposes only. No piece of content of the Training and/or reference to resource material is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, suggest a course treatment or prevent any condition, disease or malady.

The information contained in the Training and the different aspects of the Training content are not intended to be, nor are implied to be a substitute for professional, medical or pharmaceutical advice. Students should never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking professional medical advice because of information obtained in the Training. Students should always seek the advice of a qualified health-care provider prior to commencing any treatment for any conditions, diseases or maladies.
 

Students enrolled in the Training are not trained to become a psychotherapist, mental health professional, physical therapist or any other type of health-care provider. 


The Training (nor the successful completion of it with the designation of the Gentle Trauma Release© Practitioner) does not certify the student to be a psychotherapist, mental health professional, physical therapist, health-care provider, or otherwise.
 
The Training (nor the successful completion of it with the designation of the Gentle Trauma Release© Practitioner) is not intended for anyone to diagnose, treat, cure, suggest a course treatment or prevent any condition, disease or malady, nor does it give the right or permission to anyone to do so.
 
The students of the Training should always refer their clients to the appropriate professional (mental health professional, psychotherapist, health-care provider or otherwise) for any issue arising outside the scope of their own professional skills and expertise. If a client shows any signs or symptoms of distress, included but not limited to depression and/or suicidal thoughts, students and graduates must direct the client to immediately seek out help.
 
The students should never encourage their clients to disregard professional medical or pharmaceutical advice, nor encourage them to delay in seeking such advice.
 
Any decisions that the student or graduate makes and the consequences thereof are the student’s own. Under no circumstances can the student hold the Gentle Trauma Release Institute (including its owners, staff members, employees, members, volunteers) liable for any actions that the student takes.

For good and valuable consideration, the student, their heirs, legal representatives and assigns agree to forever and fully release, defend and hold harmless the Gentle Trauma Release Institute (including its owners, staff members, employees, members, volunteers) and to never hold the Gentle Trauma Release Institute (including its owners, staff members, employees, members, volunteers) liable for any loss or costs incurred by them from of actions taken and situations created as a result of the techniques, strategies, processes, advice, materials or information offered via the Training and/or Proprietary Information. This applies to any and all claims or liability of whatsoever kind, nature or extend, and for any damage, including but not limited to personal, emotional, psychological, medical, physical, business, financial or otherwise.


The premise of the Gentle Trauma Release Method© is that in order to release bothersome and/or traumatic memories and emotions, it’s crucial to help the client’s body feel safe. The feelings of safety activated in the body then lead to improvements in one’s wellbeing. The Gentle Trauma Release Method© uses a selection of protocols, tools, interventions and techniques to trigger a feeling of safety in the client and thus facilitate the release of bothersome and/or traumatic memories and emotions to increase their overall wellbeing. The Gentle Trauma Release Method© has its scientific foundation in the Polyvagal Theory authored by Dr. Stephen Porges and in the fields of Evolutionary Biology, Neuroscience and Psychology.
 
 
By enrolling in the Training, students understand and agree that although the Gentle Trauma Release Method© appears to be promising in terms of the resulting emotional and mental health benefits, it is currently not officially identified as an evidence-based approach and technique and may therefore be considered experimental. The Gentle Trauma Release Method© is a unique, self-regulated approach and is to be considered an alternative approach.

The Gentle Trauma Release Method© is an innovative and relatively new approach. The student agrees and acknowledges being aware that the extent of the Gentle Trauma Release Method© effectiveness and/or its benefits and risks not yet fully researched and known. Therefore, the student accepts full responsibility for any and all risks associated with using and applying the Gentle Trauma Release Method© and agrees that this Agreement is meant and intended to be a complete and unconditional release of liability and assumption of risk to the greatest extent.

The student understands that if they choose to use and apply the Gentle Trauma Release Method©, it may be possible to experience an adverse emotional or physical reaction or discomfort which can be perceived as negative side effects or consequences. It may also be possible to experience such reaction or discomfort related to life experiences that occurred earlier in life. The students agrees to ask for help from the Gentle Trauma Release Institute should they experience such adverse reactions or discomfort and to seek professional help if appropriate.

Any information, testimonials or stories presented during the Training do not constitute a prediction, guarantee or warranty regarding the outcome or performance of any specific individual using the Gentle Trauma Release Method© for any particular issue or any particular purpose.
The student agrees that any voluntary participation in group processes during the Training means that they waive their rights of privacy and confidentiality with respect to individuals participating in the group processes included in the Training.
 
The student agrees that anything and everything discussed with Gentle Trauma Release Institute (including its owners, staff members, employees, members, volunteers) is merely a perspective to consider and that the participation in the Training is not intended to create or establish a professional client-practitioner relationship.
